Effective December 31, 2014, the Pennsylvania Department of State will require all persons applying for the renewal of a license or a certification issued by a Licensing Board to submit documentation acceptable to the Licensing Board of the completion of at least two (2) hours of approved continuing education per licensure cycle.
This education is mandatory for all healthcare workers covered under 23 Pa.C.S.A.§ 6311. This includes, but is not limited to, Physicians, Dentists, Chiropractors, Registered Nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurses.
